Angels walk among us, and one goes by the name of Mervie Knowles. Ms. Knowles is the owner and Head Caretaker at Home Away From Home: Retirement & Assisted Living Facility. She opened her heart and home to more than 30 senior citizens and, today, she and her team of ten workers and volunteers look after the daily needs of all residents, many of who are sick, disabled or bed-ridden. GBDRF, in partnership with GBPA and GNT Construction, recently completed renovations of the facility, including dry-walling, tiling, replacing doors and windows, new fixtures and appliances. Thanks to Ms. Knowles and her team, Home Away From Home residents are receiving the assistance and care they so greatly need.
