Press Release:
Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line is canceling a cruise so one of their cruise ships can head to the Bahamas later this evening on a humanitarian mission. The ship will not only allow Bahamian residents to go home, but will also allow for those in the Bahamas to evacuate to the United States.
The Grand Celebration cruise ship will depart from the Port of Palm Beach at 8:00 p.m. this evening and sail to Freeport, Bahamas. Grand Celebration will not only be loaded with food, water, and other supplies, but will also carry first responders and volunteers to the Bahamas.
The cruise ship will also transport Bahamian residents who were stranded in South Florida, due to Hurricane Dorian, home. The cruise line canceled today’s sailing so the ship could be used on this humanitarian mission. This is a complimentary service by the cruise line for all volunteers and Bahamian residents.
All personal need to have a valid passport or an original birth certificate to get on board the cruise ship.
The current plan is for Grand Celebration to return to the Port of Palm Beach on September 7 with Bahamian residents who wish to evacuate to the U.S., and have proper documentation.
Residents in South Florida can drop off supplies to aid residents of Grand Bahama Island to the cruise line’s warehouse. The warehouse is located at 301 Broadway Ave., Bay #7, in Riviera Beach, FL 33404.
The humanitarian cruise is not open to regular cruisers or the general public.
